MBSN members pitch their niche! Within the VA industry, there are so many niche areas to explore. Sometimes we ‘fall into’ a niche area by being in the right place at the right time. Sometimes we combine our expertise with a niche market. And sometimes, we adapt our passion to this industry. Here’s the what and why of the MBSN members. My favorite niche is working with Life and Career Coaches who are implementing new business processes (marketing campaigns, web updates, e-mail management, computer software etc…). I get to be an entrepreneur with my clients. I also love playing with business processes and technology while connecting with the Coaching community. Kristen Beireis
My heart's work is assisting non profits with "Association Management." I help them turn goals into reality through organizing, prioritizing, execution, and follow up. Jill Claire
Building successful relationships is the key to our business. My niche is managing the operations of a virtual office environment for several partners of an executive search firm. This involves all aspects of the search process—from scheduling appointments, interviews and travel arrangements to document processing and accounting. I make it all happen smoothly and give each candidate and client that extra touch of personal service so they know they’re at the top of our firm’s priority list. Barbara Cronin
Association management and meeting planning make up my niche. I joined a professional association in 1984 and have seen the value of association membership. While working for the president of an international association, I noticed that the most successful chapters had paid administrators. It became my dream and I’m lucky enough to be doing it! I learned meeting planning through an association, too. I love every minute of planning and executing a meeting. I say it is an addiction of which there is no cure. The people who do it love it! Rosemary Deitzer, CPS/CAP
My niche is association management, focusing on membership communications, database management and administrative services. My goal is to manage the day-to-day administrative operations so the Executives have more time to focus on their projects to ensure the success of the association. Carlotta DePrez
I enjoy organizing and setting up my clients’ financial records and managing and keeping their records up to date - enabling them to spend more time on their core services. I provide professional, personalized, affordable, and timely bookkeeping services to small businesses and non-profit organizations, while adhering to high standards of quality and integrity. By utilizing my services, clients receive professionally prepared financial records and reports enhancing their interactions with accountants and financial institutions, providing an accurate picture of their financial health and enabling them to make better business decisions. Lynn Haney, CPS/CAP
Transcription is my passion. I enjoy the process and freedom of typing from verbal communication rather than from written forms of communication. Sarah Lindley
My current niche is marketing research support – programming questionnaires for online respondents, minor data analyses, and graphic representation of study results. I enjoy the challenges involved in collecting exactly the information that the client needs, and presenting that information to them in an easily understandable (and attractive!) format. I am most passionate about the creative processes in my work, and am striving toward a greater expertise in graphic design, desktop publishing and website design. Ann Nienaber Our core services include project management, customer relationship management, customized e-mail marketing campaigns and productivity enhancement. Additionally, we offer affordable small business web design and web maintenance. I’m enthusiastic about the technical end of things – I enjoy architecting solutions that enable our clients to make more out of their business day. Nora Rubinoff
My passion is to provide superior service to all of my clients—large or small. I especially love transcription and legal work. Joyce Spencer
I enjoy transcription as a specialty because it offers a dependable source of clients. I’ve also recently started mentoring new MTs out of school. Through our successfully proven approach, caring, and dedication, Clerical Plus, Ltd. has been considered an asset to corporate businesses as well as medical and legal practices. Colleen Wietmarschen
I’m passionate about desktop publishing - newsletters, flyers, business cards, all collaborative materials, and Internet research—especially for start-ups. I've always enjoyed jig-saw puzzles and drawing. We have an 8-thousand-piece puzzle mounted in our entryway! This niche involves finding and putting all the pieces in the right place to create an effective and pleasing image. Rosemary Yourtee
